what issues did you experience with coolant sensors
hard start sometimes

on the 302's I had the coolant temp sensors would go out and then the coolant gauge would sometimes not get a right signal and read funny: i.e. one time it was pegged upon startup when it was about -10 out. or just setting the CEL at random, even idling problems. Not saying that this is your issue or that it would cause the same things, just illustrating some of the funny things sensors can do..

They have two coolant temp sensors as well. The single wire is the one for the gauge. The one with the big plug is for the ECM.
