The windshield in my old pickup has been broken for about 25 years. Nobody makes a new windshield for it so I threw out some feelers.
A friend found one in a local Pic-A-Part so he grabbed it for me. I don't drive the truck much so I have not bothered with it untill my boss told me that I should get it out of the shop before it gets broken.
So I called a bunch of glass places. Pretty hard to find a shop that will install a used customer supplied windshield. They just want to install new glass only and since mines not made they were not interested.
So I kept calling numbers in the phone book.
Finally found a guy that would install it.
When I called I told him that I would need the rubber too since mine was hard as a rock. He came by to see if he could use a universal rubber but he couldn't.
So I had to order a rubber from a Place that specializes in International trucks.
Got the rubber and called the guy. Made an appt for today @ 9a so I drove the truck to work.
The glass guy called @8:30 and said he was running late and would be there @10. No problem. Atleast he called and told me.
He rolled up @ 9:55. Took about 45 minutes for him to install the new glass and charged me $65 which I thought was fair.
So he showed up on the day he said he would, called to let me know he was running late and didn't complain about my used glass.
I will use him again in the future.
