Gumout Regane has been taken off some of the Wal Mart shelves. It looks as if the new Diesel standards that the EPA just started...The label has to be changed. It is not to be used in a Diesel Engine with the new standards. Some Wal-Marts have taken it off the shelves or have lined out the label where is says use in Diesel engine. One Wal-Mart when i went up to pay for it the register came up saying cannot sell...

It's really amazing that WM, with their substantial throughput, would be caught with obsolete product on the shelves. They, of all outlets, should never have to send a product back to the producer for out of date labels.

I'm also surprised that the regs don't just demand an end to the production of such items instead of the sale

You then just institute the end of production in ample advance of the impending regs in terms of "need"

WalMart has been taking off their shelves, many products that I purchaced and is no longer to be seen again. Not only auto products but, health care, dental, grooming, colognes. All the products that I personaly liked are now gone. I understand from reading BITOG that MMO is no longer being sold in the auto section at some WM's throughout the nation. I haven't seen this yet in my area. But as I just stated, my favorite cologne, mouth wash, toothpaste, vitamines etc. are no longer being sold and I can't find them at even other stores,(RiteAid, Eckard, CVS). Maybe they are no longer being produced ???

MMO fals into the same catagort...They need to change the label and take Diesel Off the label..Once that is done it will be back on the shelf...

Soupy: You will be just fine using it in you 6.2L

Shell will be changing the labels for the sake of the EPA but the formula of REGANE will not change. For those using it in older diesel pick-up's or cars I would continue to use it. I've never known of anyone using it in a class 8 truck as that would be pretty costly and this is the main class of diesel this new regulation was meant for.

Yeah I had that happen many times at wallyworld. Some of the things that get me carded are,
Regane
ST Carb cleaner

Funny thing is, Techron doesnt, ST Fuel inject. cleaner doesnt either.

Very annoying and kinda embarassing, being 22 and getting carded not for cigs or booze but for CAR STUFF!

You should have seen the looks I got a few weeks back when I had to buy a pack of allergy pills for me and one for a neighbor, and then picked up 5 FI cleaner bottles. I got the, "I know what YOU'RE up to..." look.

I just bought Regane at O'reilly's and out of about 6 bottles on the shelf one had a permanent marker crossed through the safe for diesel fuel. It was smudged so I thought it was just some accidental marking.

I added it to my 92 Chevy 6.2L diesel for the first time. Hopefully there won't be any problems.

^hehe, I had about the same experience at my local wal mart.Had a few extra bucks to burn and was nearby, so I stopped by and picked up some Berryman's Chemtool, a couple bottles of the stuff. When they scan it, a bunch of red "x's" came onto the screen and the register made an alarm type buzzing sound, and the cashier's tone of voice and demeanor changed(to a suspicious one!), and she asked to see my ID.

I just laughed, busted out my ID, and told her innocently that it was for my car, not making drugs. No problem, but still very embarassing......and I'm 22 also. lol

my son couldn;t even buy a can of compressed air for my keyboard. I started laughing when he told me. He could run somebody over in a car but he can even buy air. Pretty amusing.

Kids die from inhaling the propellant in compressed air cans. The propellant causes a temporary loss of oxygen to the brain and that is what gives them the high. However, anything that can starve the brain of oxygen has the ability to kill you. That's why it is regulated.

I was just at my local wallyworld, Regane has a black sharpie line going through the diesel line on the back.

The marvel mystery oil has a small round white sticker saying that its not approved for the new low sulfur standard for 2007 diesel engines.

A few other products have a black sharpie line in them as well.

Well up here in Minot ND they just opened up a new Super center...MMO on the shelf with tiny white sulfer content sticker and they had regain on the shelf but didn't look at the lable.
