Group III Base Oil Suppliers

For the upcoming GF-4 oils, will the Korean “S” companies, SK & S-Oil, be the major suppliers of Grp III base stocks?

Who does Castrol currently use for a Grp III base oil source?

I believe Castrol uses a lot of Petro Canada for GPIII.

Castrol gets most of it's Group III from Petro Canada and Shell.

Thanks, Johnny. I googled Petro-Canada & found the refinery located at Mississauga, Ont.

Are the Shell Grp III base stocks supplied by Royal Dutch Shell from overseas?

I assume that BP has no GpIII capability, at least not in NA. I have only heard of Exxon/Mobil, Chevron, Petro-Canada, and Shell producing this.

Also, they may still be giving Castrol control as an independent formulator to maintain product quality.

Blue99: Shell Group III's are made in Houston and Canada for use in North America.

Mississauga is the home of the Patman!

I've never been to that facility though, it's way down in southwest Mississauga.

LOL, no slight intended. "The Patman" has done more to put Mississauga on the Bitog map than Petro-Canada!

Another addition to the Grp III supplier list should be ChevronTexaco with the 4R (4 cSt) & 7R (7 cSt) base oils.
