Ground strap broke off down spark plug hole

I got a much better mechanic and his diagnosis is leaking from the spark plug not being flush. The threads are too messed up to get it in correctly. Scheduled a rethread for the hole Tuesday with irridium plugs, no charge if the noise isn't gone.

Yes running a thread chaser through the plug hole and then the plug tightly and flush fixed the noise. Thank you to the poster who suggested this as the source. The car is running better than ever.

I saw a video of another ford where someone said the hole was only threaded half way down from the factory. Seems to maybe be the case here or i just buggered up the threads real good. I think ill never touch them again in this car.

Hey about 6 months and 3,000 miles later the car is running great.

My mpg read out is a bit above what others are reporting for the same car, so I do not think piston or valves are badly damaged.

"Ground strap" should not be magnetic thus you got nothing, only fake spark plugs have the strap that's magnetic.
