I don't see many on full size trucks anymore. When I do, it usually on a old farm & ranch work truck. They used to be very popular. Anyone else notice less of them today?

Here in Texas just about every 2500+ series truck has a huge Ranch Hand bumper.

there is a place near the family ranch that installs them day in and out, i grab their free pallets on occasion.

The airbag system in the trucks is designed for the front structure the truck was built with. I dont know of any study done on the changes a brush guard or grill guard would make but its sure to alter it in some way.

I've ranted on this before, but they're still common here as a pathetic attempt to help in deer collisions. But everyone goes with a bolt-on guard, which does basically nothing. They're literally maybe good as a brush guard to push a few branches away from your headlights. This is also why they're called brush guards.

If you want more than that you need a full replacement bumper built from plate steel and tube that bolts directly to the frame horns.

You can't cheap out here and gain anything other than looks (which is subjective, ie beauty in the eye of the beholder)

I witnessed a bad accident the truck had a front brush / push bar front airbags didn't deploy actually non went off. Impact was dead center front end even the police officer noticed

Airbags deploying is a funny thing. I have seen quite a few vehicles that looked as though the bags should have deployed but didnt and some that had deployed when visually the vehicle didnt look that bad. As I understand it they are all about energy measurement by the sensors and deployment depends on where on the vehicle that the hit is.

Some of the back roads are used to move herds …
This is the road to my camp and the only road in the middle of thousands of acres used for cattle …
Ranchers drive flatbeds with brush guards …
