I used to ride them and Trailways buses from New York City to Albany back in the 1970's. One way fare was $8 IIRC. Hitchhiking (which I did quite a bit back then) was about the only other alternative for a poor college student.

I could never understand why people would pay for the privilege of sitting on a bus for 15 hours and pay $129 when you could have flown in 2 hours for $69.
1) Austin to Dallas isn't a 15 hour ride.
2) Who takes a plane to a city 200 miles away? Between getting to and from the airports on both ends, going through security and waiting for the plane to depart, it's quicker door to door to drive.
3) Airfare between nearby cities are always higher per mile.
Lots of people fly AUS-DAL or AUS-HOU. Southwest used to fly AUS-DAL 15 times a day even before the Wright Amendment was repealed.
Southwest flies DAL-HOU some ridiculous amount of times a day like 30, or at least before Covid they did.
So you want something longer?
AUS-OKC May 27th one-way on Southwest $238, 3h40m
AUS-OKC May 27th via bus: $69, 14h55m
