Hi,

I just changed my manual gear oil to redline MT-90, but I notice some fine grey sediments at the bottom of the bottle of MT-90 after pouring out the oil. Is this normal ? Could it be due to the additive components precipitating out after prolong storage? Should I shake the bottle before using?

Thanks for your comments.

I used MT-90 in my Miata and did not notice any residue. I mail ordered the stuff so maybe it did not need to be shaken. I guess a good shake before install is needed.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your advice.

I just got a reply from redline saying the same thing, that a small part of the additive package will settle out after sometime, however they noted that it's not critical. But I will still do the shake the next time.

Maybe they should put a "shake well before use" label on the bottle.
