Green Tea ?!?

It's all good... My mom/dad are energy freaks and wouldn't have something like that keeping water hot all day.

They just recently canned the hot-water heater for a hot-water on demand unit. Unlimited hot water and no gas keeping a tank hot.

God forbid if I leave a light on for 2 seconds in another room.

Then these are the same people that leave the front door wide open in the middle of winter to bring stuff in/out of the house to the car 20 ft away. So my light uses more energy than the heating of the house you just let out? hmmmmm....

Parental logic I guess...

How's the overall health going? We have similar problems so I'm always interested in your progress.

I decided to go hardcore and eat healthy but not obsessively, no cutting out red meats or anything extreme.

No more diet soda and very little "real" soda. That's one of the main culprits of my "issues".

Very little coffee, mostly black or green tea sold in health food stores.

Only distilled water, no tap water.

Vitamins in moderation with an emphasis on B complex and C.

Back on the clonopin so I get an extremely good deep sleep and wake up ready to go in the morning. No more staying awake worrying about anything and everything and no more sleeping pills that make me groggy all day. A side effect is I require about 30% less sleep since it's such a higher quality of sleep.

Contoured pillow that allows me to breath through the night. I realized not only was I cutting off my air, my most common position was partially cutting off blood flow causing me to feel confused the first half of the next day.

Some sort of physical activity every single day whether it's a simple bike ride, weights, or running.

I cut out some bitog and computer time in general since it seems to increase my anxiety level.

And last, I started going back to Church.

Some of these changes saw instant effects, some took a while.

Is it one of those "memory foam" pillows? Has it had an effect?

BGN,

I have been following the Naturopathic doc's advise to a "T" and have exceptional results. Now I have cheated and had a burger/fries here/there and the odd other thing I'm not supposed to have but have stuck to the diet/vitamin regiment she has me on and the results are as follows:

- Had a few bad headaches in the beginning. (Probably the system was in shock)

- Haven't touched a cup of coffee or sugar drink in over a month

- Haven't eaten anything containing wheat, dairy, gluten, processed foods of any sort, fried foods, or refined sugar/carbs in over a month. (Ocassional exception as listed above)

- Drink green tea/water as my choice of beverage.

- I can now get out of bed well rested at 7am every morning and I seldom am able to fall asleep before 1am.

- I no longer am on Acid reflux medication for my queesy stomach and can eat a full breakfast (Never been able to do)

- I actually crave vegetables and fruit like crazy (never before)

- I don't feel like crashing and having a nap at 2pm even on the busiest stressful days at work

- The aches/pains in my lower back from my herniated disc which I damaged when I was a teenager, which normally constantly nags me has almost subsided to the point I can't feel it anymore and I can feel increased mobility lifting/bending certain ways I couldn't before

- While I still get the upper tension in my neck that sometimes leads to a tension headache, I think this is because of sitting in front of my computer and all the driving I do in a day. Also writing reports at the restaurants with my head aimed down too. But even these are far less often.

- I haven't had a migraine since I started this regiment, and for that I'm truly thankful because I feel like I got my life back.

- My anxiety is completely gone and I'm almost off my Effexor. I'm on a minimal dose for the next 2 weeks before trying without it completely.

- I sleep like a rock...

Now to back all this up... My blood results just came back on Thursday and my liver enzymes are that of a healthy 20 year old whereas before they were looking pretty bad like I was a chronic drinker.

My thyroid T3 & T4 hormones are almost back to where they should be and far from the border line inactive where they were.

I know this is gross, but urine doesn't have an odor and frequently is clear again whereas before dark yellow was the norm no matter how much water I drank.

I know this sounds like I'm a quack, but I tell you this lady knows her stuff.

She said I have had "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" for quite a while all all the things I was experiencing like the liver problem, anxiety and low thyroid were because I over taxed my system to the point that all the systems were starting to shut down because they were exhausted.

So to sum it all up, this is the only thing that has worked for me. I'm thankful I met Susan and I thank god for pointing me in this direction because it was starting to get hopeless and like I would never see the end.

In just over a month I'm almost 100% back to my old self again... And I can't explain it with science, and neither can my MD who had me on all types of drugs.

I think somewhere inside he thinks I'm a head-case, but I don't care...

As for drinking distilled water this is terrible for you as it will leach minerals from your bone/blood and can create deficiencies... You should drink filtered water or RO water not distilled.

That's very good to hear!

I'm 32 and starting to feel like I'm 18 again. I wonder if some of us weren't meant for all this modern processed/fake/chemical foods.

Huge effect! It tilts the head back a little, opening up the airway. I've woken many times gasping for air before this pillow. Also, dream quality has greatly improved. For years I had nightmares every night. I'm 220lbs but very lean so it's not a body fat issue. What made me decide to make a change was twice I had a nightmare that I was getting killed and woke up with my fist back about to hit my GF. I even slept on the couch a couple times due to fear of that happening.

I tell you one thing... In the month I spent off this stuff I feel like I can live without it forever... Not that I will do this but I wouldn't mind to if it meant feeling as good as I do now.

Monday I start the "Challenge" diet where I will have one of the forbidden foods in a large quantity on that day, then for the next couple days go back to the strict diet and see how I fare with the various forbidden foods.

This is all in an attempt to see how my system is handling things like dairy, wheat etc. To rule out what could also have contributed to my previous state.

I think dairy is going to be one of them. I never tolerated that well ever and my dad is really badly lactose intolerant.

I will keep you posted if you want to know...

I have a cervical pillow that my chiropractor recommended when I was having tension headache and although it didn't help those it did make me sleep without tossing/turning. They are awesome.

Mine is made by Tempurpedic. I love those Swedes

Oh no, that is tea, it's just a special kind.

Caffeine withdrawal causes this big time.

Yeah that is what I figured it was because I was a coffee-a-holic

Green tea cleanses the body so your system works better. I've drank ten cups of green tea daily and noticed the body craves for fruits and veggie. When you eat red meat the body feels sluggish and the body has a repelling reaction. Also I eat chili peppers or chili powders will do at every meal, before drinking tea or workout. Put one teaspoon with 4 oz of water and tank it down. This stimulates your system, the blood circulates you can feel something in your system that is circulating.

I drink a good quality Genmaicha as caffeine is on the lower end.

Also the Genmaicha is suited for younger kids. You don't want that high caffeine for the younger ones.

I was watching a show and it said you could drink it in a tea and the effects are very mild but noticeable. More of a calming dreamy state as opposed to full blown stoned.

If I ever had enough quantity I would like to try it. Maybe someday.

The "active ingredient" in Vancouver special tea isn't water soluble, which is why the effects are mild when used in tea. On the other hand, if you put it in Everclear, that's a different story.
