USPS Did the Unthinkable - Or At Least I Thought So

Here's another one:

I would be happy my package was delivered.
Yeah, I think the postal worker was thinking they were doing him a favour, and not making him pick it up at the post office...
I did and I know how to spell offense. Sorry, couldn't resist. :ROFLMAO:
 And I'm sure you didn't feel outraged at a small challenge like that, or you would've spent your whole youth yelling at the clouds!
(also it is how farm kids in Canada are taught to spell it, but no offence taken ;))

We installed a larger mailbox and I've been impressed with how much they cram in there. I appreciate it because it saves us having to go to the post office to pick up packages, and I get A LOT of packages between tools and auto parts.

Anyway, OP's situation reminds me of the time I built an "ATV port" in my shop and then found myself wondering if it would make it out the shop door. Narrowly avoiding the Dumb & Dumber award, it made it with ONE INCH to spare per side!!!

I was able to get just enough of an angle on the shipping label to take a picture. It's something my wife ordered from Nordstrom's, so it can stay in there for a long time as far as I'm concerned.
Pro tip: since it is something your wife ordered, you might want to rethink the let it remain in there strategy.

USPS delivery quotes; "Do not bend hahaha, just crease, crumple, cram! You'll do fine." and "I don't work in the rain."

Carrier and their boss could decide that going forward, they'll just leave a notice telling the recipient a package wouldn't fit and they need to collect it at the post office themselves.
I understand the OP comments and frustration.

But it DID fit and I would be proud of myself if I was the mailman who stuffed it in there.
It was a perfect fit, .... how often does that happen ?

Informed Delivery can be a diarrhea special.
I got my email today IRS letter and a insurance notice and a text that revealed the rates are going way up... the IRS owes me 2023 refund still and the letter isn't in a brown envelope 😢

More USPS fun:
I have informed delivery, so I can see pictures of all the items that they aren't delivering.
So when I try to have my mail forwarded to my GF's house, I'm still not getting my mail, there either because I need to do a second factor confirmation on the mail forwarding, which is a 16 digit number that I should have received in the mail, but of course, didn't because they don't deliver to my address.

We had quite the fight with the post office last year and it got to the point that the postmaster said he was not going to deliver our mail any more.

At some point in December of 2024, we just stopped receiving mail. I called numerous times and they said they would send someone out to deliver or figure out why they couldn't deliver. Note - we had no snow up until mid/late January last winter season.

Never really heard back until we got a foot of snow in a storm mid january. Then the postmaster called and said that the reason we haven't been getting our mail is because we didn't clean infront of the mailbox and it's too dangerous for the postal workers to get out of the truck.

Oddly enough, the postal worker had no problem walking up my 150' unplowed driveway to deliver a package. .......

That went back and forth, things escalated and I ended up filing a complaint.

I kept it REAL clear after that --- even when we got 10' of snow in a week. I still only got my mail delivered once every 10 days. So weird.

So the Postmaster said they weren't going to deliver the mail they already weren't delivering? 🤪

Can we just end the post office already. The entire constitutional purpose of the post office - to foster communication between the states - has completely been nullified via other communication methods.

Nothing of value or importance comes in the mail, or at least needs to.

I would agree, except they do keep the private carriers from jacking rates, or not shipping at all, to unprofitable areas. Also I think having a public mail service, who answers to elected officials and therefore the public, for things like mail-in election ballots could be a good thing, in a privately run digital landscape.
In my mind anyways, all elections worth stealing(which is almost all of them), now should be run with paper, and real people counting them. That is a cost of having fair and easily auditable elections.
I think there's too many rich guys, with no sense of public responsibility, with too many resources able to hack almost any digital election platform. Also other nations, they could hack a digital platform here, but its pretty hard to interfere with enough paper ballets to matter.
