Great bass playing in a song

Daltrey and Townshend sure had their differences for a long time there. I seem to recall they have mended those fences.

I also read that they felt that the two albums, It’s Hard and Face Dances should have never been done. They were under pressure from the record company to produce and get on tour. If you listen to those albums they are just not The Who at all. Daltrey and Townshend recorded their parts separately and the studio put it together. I also had a small listen to some of their stuff after that. It was pitiful.

Moon’s death really shook them and when The Ox died they should have disbanded.

( not sure what happened with this comment )
I really loved Face Dances and It’s Hard. I think those were my first Who albums, and then I discovered the My Generation lp and it totally blew my mind!! Being in jr high in the early 80s, surrounded by 80s pop, those two Who albums just sounded “different” from anything I’d ever heard. I also really liked Daltry’s Free Me and Townshend’s Face Dances Part Two!!👍

But their 60s stuff is definitely their best!!

Daltrey was at his peak in this period.

And a ballad from them. This is actually genius the way they placed the progression.

I really need to get a copy of Who's Next(y). I can't believe I've never picked one up. I'd like to find an oddball mono copy (probably have to be an import).
