Alright I have a dumb question.
Has anyone else experienced this issue.
Rebuilt my 60 series 300k ago, out of frame. And ever since the bellhousing gets wet on the transmission. The weird part is that it’s usually only the seam where the bellhousing and rear structure are mated with the transmission bolts.
What’s weird is that the rear seal isn’t leaking, verified through the pipe plug in the bottom of the rear structure, and the transmission isn’t losing any oil. It seems to get worse when I grease the throughout bearing shaft and the throw out bearing, almost like the grease is liquifying and leaking. The structure only gets wet from just below the throw out bearing shaft to the bottom. If I don’t grease it for a couple intervals, then it will eventually stop. I do believe rear structure is leaking cause of where the oil/grease is. And the tear structure is sealed with anaerobic and we o-ring Machined the structure.
Has anyone else experience this? I hate to pull the trans and rear structure to find its just the grease causing the issue.
This is the grease I’ve been using for the last several years.
