92 Dodge D250 2 wheel drive Heavy Duty 5.9 gas engine. Seems I am seeing reference to super strength U joint that's non greasable.

I would assume that the greasable type would be better but it seems to go the other way?

I also have seen this on my car, where the "better" joints have no zerks.

For my application, the only difference they list is that the "better" ones are pre-greased with super duper synthetic grease.

I'm getting the greaseable ones.

Or maybe the seals seals are tighter and hold the syn grease in better?

I could have sworn I measured the three U joints and got 2 5/8" at the axle and 2 1/8" at center joint and 2 1/8" at the trans. But it seems like the applications seem to show all the same sizes. Maybe I need to double check.

Chris142 could you tell me why? Precision is made by federal mogul.
Who makes Neapco? Rock auto carries Precision, Delco and some TRWs they are phasing out......

Oreily carries Precision and McQuay-Norris. Autozone carries their house brand. Where do I get the Spicers from Napa?

Napa seems to carry Precision or Napa Proformer, whoever that is?

Precision joints are not very precise. Once installed they allow too much side to side movement which makes vibrations. Plus the caps are almost always loose in the yoke.

Your truck originally had Spicers in it and they lasted 18 years. I would get some from wherever you can vs the Precision junk.

From what I understand the reason they went to non-greasable parts is the penetration of abrasive material through the zerk everytime someone went to grease. I remember reading this in a magazine at Americas tire a few years ago. I bet it was more of a cost saving move, though.

Anybody know of a place I can buy the spicers from? Hopefully for a good price.
