gravity bleeding brakes

OK, I have all new everything brake related on my boat trailer. (Wish the boat was also new).

These are surge brakes. I can use the breakaway lever as a "brake pedal" to move the master.

I moved the lever back and forth a few times as suggested in the manual. So do I now just open a fitting and let it run for awhile? Whats awhile? There is fluid at both fittings, but someone tried to move the hub with the lever applied and they said there was some resistance with the lever moved but not a lot.

How do I know when the gravity bleeding is done?

I let it drip till the master gets low then refill it and bleed the next

Does that take 5 min or 1 hour?

10-15 minutes per wheel

The other question is how to get a "feel" of the brake pedal with trailer surge brakes to tell if the brake system has been completely bled?
