She was not offended with any of the racial slurs and felt the movie portrayed the plight of some Asian immigrants fairly. Most of her Chinese, Taiwanese, and Singaporean friends have seen the movie and I cannot recall anyone stating they were offended.

This is an important movie for Asian immigrants as it brings Hollywood megastar power to some of their social issues and shines a light on them. My g/f really loved it that Eastwood was involved in a movie that dealt with issues many Asians can identify with.

Same here.. my wife's Laotion and didn't have a problem with it.

Wife just bought it for me as a Christmas present. Ranks up there as one of my all time favs like Shawshank Redemption. I actually used his line about people that you shouldn't have f-ed with (cleaned up a bit for liability/complaint reasons) the other day. The person I was dealing with gave me basically the same look as those 3 thugs did. Hilarious.

I think the girl "Sue" is getting married to TPitcher.

Wow, you're prophetic...

We just got engaged last Friday!!

I dunno.
I just thought it was about a guy with serious cajones doing what Clint does.
Only difference was that Clint has never before been shot dead.

Definitely one of my fav's.

Buddy of mine I grew up with, 4x Golden Glove champ, was at a party. Got hay-maker'd in the face. Didn't even blink. This line fit there (though his actual statement was "well, you do realize now that that was a mistake..."). As did the look on the guy's face as he realized he was about to get the beating of a lifetime.

And he did. And all was right in the world.

You can always spot the signs of a good beating. The blows are thrown in an effortless, yet devastating manner. Their impacts are pronounced and clean. There was a lesson learned that day. One that appeared to have been well deserved and perhaps a long-time coming.

Sometimes a serious lesson needs to be learned to really get the point across.

I really enjoyed the movie. I am a big Clint fan, always liked most of what he has like his spaghetti westerns, Dirty Harry, Unforgiven, and Letters from Iwo Jima.

Although, I might have a slight bias, since I also own and have grown up with a '72 Gran Torino Sport (bought new by my father).
