Needed to buy a mattress at one of the big box stores here, but it was raining so using the Silverado wasn't an option. My neighbor told me we could use her dad's Toyota. It was his courier truck. 2001 single cab, 5 speed. Looked pretty good from the outside, as good as a 10 year old truck could. Got in and literally fell out of the cab when I saw the odometer. 495202. It drove rock solid, started up immediately, cold A/C, warm heater, idled smoothly, literally like it would have the day it rolled off the lot. Got to talk with her dad later on that night. 80% were highway miles. Oil changes in the 5k range, always with conventional Pennzoil. He said it didn't smoke and used less than 1 quart over 5k. No major services. Basic preventative maintenance. He did say it puked coolant one time because of a ruptured hose, but he smelled it before the temperature ever registered abnormal. Pretty good testament to Toyota quality.
