So, I'm a former landscaper with 18 years of pro experience. Yes, I have permanent freckles and bad joints. I've always done 100% of my repairs and maintenance so I have a pretty good eye and ear for what works and what doesn't. Nevertheless I'm a tad bit skittish about trying Schaeffer's tcw3 7000 in my br800 4-mix blower @ 36:1. But... I'm gonna do it to see how it runs, how it cleans, and how it coats the valves. I've tried HP2 @40:1 (carbon), Saber which is pretty good at lubrication @50:1 but requires a hotter plug to be as clean as I like, Red Armor @50:1 which ran so great I thought I found heaven in a bottle but my oem cmr6h plug was black, then VP at 45:1 which was clean as a whistle but didn't leave enough film to satisfy. Now, the VP might be good enough at 40:1. It's all a balancing act between carbon, lubrication, and "runability". I'm retired, and this is more of a hobby to me than a need. So, boat oil is next after one more tank of Saber. If you are wondering, I ditched Stihl Ultra after seeing a floating black film on the cam wheel of my fs100rx and getting a whiff of it's nasty smelling (torched sardine breath) exhaust on the same day. Ultra is the one and only oil that has totally set itself into an undesirable league of it's own. So, I've decided to try Schaeffer's boat oil despite all of the warnings. fyi I've been eyeballing new blowers anyway. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated! My wife has no idea what goes on in my head.

Can't see why Schaeffers wouldn't be great. I think we all agree that stihl stuff is horrendous and one of the worst 2 cycle oils out there. Marine 2 stroke has been nothing but good and i've used the lesser stuff like supertech for forever. it simply can't have zinc or phos but many non marine 2 cycle oils don't have either neither. Someone posted VOA's of 2 cycle oils recently and some were surprising. On top of that they have to be spill safe. Some like bass pro/amalie syn blend while still cheap claim jaso fd and should be super clean while others like pennzoil syn blend don't but still do in practice. I've used supertech tcw3 for forever and never had any deposit or wear issues and I run a tad richer than 40:1, no smoke either. I got 3 gallons of evinrude syn blend green for 9 each recently.

The Shaeffer's tcw3 7000 at 36 to 1 just might be the ticket, the reason is here you are running it at idle or less throttle where this oil is good, at a higher rpm this oil is fine since you are using more oil at 36 to 1 versus 50 to 1. Tcw3 oil is fine in a blower as long as you use a tad bit more oil. I run Amsoil Saber Pro at 40 to 1 in an Echo blower and trimmer, basically I start it up, let it idle for 30 seconds and then go to town. I think echo equipment is more tolerant to idling versus Stihl.

The only other 2 stroke oil's that are awesome is:
Maxima K2
Bel Ray HR-1

My thought is with stihl equipment, start it, let it warm up, and then run it at full throttle, which does not make sense most of the time.

Let us know how the Schaeffers tcw3 7000 works out?

I run the VP at 40:1 with non ethanol gas in all my Stihl stuff. I'm just a homeowner but all my stuff is commercial Stihl gas powered.

Well give it a try. I also like to try different 2 stroke oils. That Stihl Ultra is kind of a strange oil. I been using the VP Racing PowerSports, Synthetic 2 stroke @ 40:1 oil lately. Its like $19.99 a qt. on amazon.

I considered that vp Powersports. Full or semi-synthetic? How does it smell?

I ain't doin' all that mixing for my yard work. Trufuel premix 50:1 runs best in my Echo 2 strokes(Home Depot). For Marine Oil Quicksilver Premium Plus is good. (Academy) .02

I've been doing it so long I don't even think twice. Besides, I'm too cheap!

Schaeffer's 7000 tcw3 is a no go at 36:1. One tank at wot and my sparkplug was black. Gonna give to my marina.
