So one day at the transfer station I came across a stereo unit, seen below; I snagged it. Had a dead channel but fixed that. At a hamfest I came across some metal box that I took because, as a ham radio operator, I can't turn down something in the free pile. Turns out, it's 6 channel audio splitter, seen above the stereo below. Finally wired it up today; no surprises, it splits audio, although I'm finding that if I use junky speakers I get... junky audio.

Anyhow. The audio knobs are not to pots but to tapped transformers (I had to open it up and look). 12 position switch, so that means it goes from zero to ... 11? Nice!

Manual is online too. 12 is indeed better than 10!

No one knows who they were....or.... what they were doin'....

But...... their legacy lives on. :D

I took home a really nice, working Nakamichi cassette deck (looks to be early 1980s) from a free pile at the flea market awhile back.
