Morning.
I've had a Yahoo address, since 1998. A few years ago, I got a similar Gmail account.
My preference with email is not to bundle discussions -- rather to have a new email (bolded), when a response comes in. I find Gmail confusing, but I'm sure it's somewhere in the settings -- could someone assist me ?

Thanks.

To turn off conversation view in Gmail, you can do the following:

  1. Open Gmail
  2. Click the Settings gear icon in the top right
  3. Click See all settings
  4. Scroll to Conversation view
  5. Select Conversation view off
  6. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page
When conversation view is off, messages are not grouped together in your inbox.

i recently opened a G Mail acct when Yahoo locked me out when computer-me forgot passwords!! a real hassle but learning + seems less spam but slower to load!

You can use Thunderbird as desktop app if you wish.
I have been using Thunderbird for years as GMAIL app on laptop. But recently I was not able to open attachments. Forgot the exact issue. Bring up gmail.com on Edge or Chrome and attachments were fine.

Probably going to move the rest of my email to ProtonMail. Currently have financial related email go there.

I like the simplicity of proton mail. It just works all the time. Using the free version of outlook lately has been frustrating. Anything unimportant we use outlook for.
I HAVE way too many emails accounts from all services and a couple of paid as well as free through proton mail. 30 years of computing they have added up. Without question all I need is a couple free ones for junk and a few for proton but I have about 3, most likely 4 times as many right now. I would like to get down to about 5 for my wife and I.
