I run a bunch of flat-tappet engines. Got a nasty surprise today trying to reorder GM EOS under P/N 1052367: The P/N has been discontinued and there is reportedly no replacement P/N.

Ummmm...now what? I need a replacement ZDDP additive. Don't want thickeners, seal-swellers, or anything else. Suggestions?

Thanks

I agree...how about some SLOB? It's drying up, but it can still be found. I'm thinking about buying up what's left around me for others that may need it.

YIPE! What's this world coming to? No more EOS?

I'd better hold on to the two bottles of it that I bought several years back... Yeah, what to use as a replacement? Seems there was no equal to EOS for engine break-in, etc...

Use Crane Cam Lube. See my VOA on it.

Hmmm... apparently AC Delco is (at least for now) still carrying the EOS under part number 10-106.

Man, I really hope they don't pull the plug on its manufacture 'cause it is virtually unbeatable for an engine break-in additive.

Caramba, those Zn and P numbers are stratospheric! Did you ask Blackstone to double-check their results? Looks as if some folks here were skeptical. If the numbers are correct, it seems 2oz of the stuff in a crankcase full of SM synthetic would probably be plenty.

Thanks for the pointer.
