Maxlife or GM EOS to pump up XD3 0-30

A cut n paste from a post in another section:

509ci, iron head, big block chev, 13.7:1 compression ratio, loaded 5000-7000 rpm, start drag run at 140F water temp taken at top of the intake manifold.

Have 35 psi oil pressure at 1200 rpm - going to 65-75 psi at anything over 3000 rpm. Previously used Torco 10W30 conventional oil at request of engine builder.

I'd like to run Esso XD3 0-30 synthetic oil - given the low initial water temp and the good oil pressure I had with the conventional oil.


Torco typically has high levels of moly and tin (from what I read here) - MPZ formula - can I sustitute the XD3 and still provide the same engine protection?

I have no local Torco dealer (Canada) and have cases of the XD3 for my our daily van and car. Is an additive (sold in Canada) package suggested for the XD3?

I kept this out of the racing section since it really isn't that stout a package and has a reasonble low rpm range / soft ramp roller camshaft.

Please lend a hand with this street / strip combination.

I have since been in touch with Valvoline Canada - there is no Synpower Oil Additive, only Maxlife Oil Suppliment.

It would seem my choices for a Canada OTC are Maxlife Oil Suppliment, and GM EOS.

Which of these (and at what mixture) would pull up the extreme pressure additive package to a level of the original Torco engine oil recommeded by my engine builder? Other additives suggested?

What about Molecule's company, Specialty Forumlations' SX-UP? It is made to beef up modern oils for muscle care era cars. Here is a VOA of it.

Looks like great stuff - but no Canadian distributor - and I have been BURNED

at the border before shipping a chemical.

What do you mean by, "burned at the border?"

BURNED as in:

3 1/2 weeks even after paying 3 day courier service, DAYS of playing telephone tag to get proper MSDS and chemical composition sheets from the shipper to customs PLUS a $200 surcharge for importing a designated substance.

I fought the surcharge, ate the phone bills and lost time. This was for a tire softening compound.

SX-UP is a PCMO supplement, not a Nuclear Reactor Component, and we do have MSDS's for it which can be shipped with it.

I wouldn't *** anything to the XD3.

It has one of the strongest additive packs in the oil industry other than the mack of moly.

I'd add enough EOS to get the ZDP up to 1300PPM. You could add a quart of Redline to get some more moly too.
