Does anyone know if this is incredibly ambitious?

I'm at 92K on my grand prix and will be changing next weekend, I don't think I'm having any problems, but I'm starting to rethink not changing it even earlier. The owners manual say 100K for normal service, and I'm guessing that being over 90K in just over two model years is the normalest of normal service (according to the OEM, anyway)(and I know "normalest" is not a word :-D)

unfortunately, I bought it in december 08 with under 30K on it. As far as devaluing a car, I would consider it idiotic service, however as far as "normal" vs. "severe" it should be normal.

OMG, i cant imagine not changing it....considering I recently jumped on the Supertech and drain plug bandwagon, I wish I had been changing it much more frequently. Im going to have to drive this car for a LONG time before I get the value I want out of it.

The time frame of the accumulation is not the most important issue here. The question is was this mostly highway mileage which is the easiest on a transmission or was it stop and go urban mileage with lots of idling and possible running hot? Any trailer towing involved? Any roof rack with bikes or luggage? Any mountain driving? You get the idea. If it's severe service, take the day off and change it tomorrow. If it's regular service, then change it before the summer heat..

I had my Buick's ATF and filter changed at 50K miles, about four months after I bought it. Somehow I can't believe any fluid is really "lifetime."
