My Trailblazer received the following: In 2012 I installed Moog outer tie rod ends. 140,000km later they are still tight and are greased twice yearly.

American made Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts in 2014 at around 165,000km. Unsure of mileage but on a couple years out of them because they were utter rubbish. Bistein 4600's since maybe 2018 or 2019 and it's been rock solid.

In 2019, Moog blue sway bar bushings front and back. Currently still working great. Same time I installed ACDelco whatever brand sway bar end links, front and back. China made and looked like Moog from the pictures. Working well thus far, greased twice yearly. Only issue is the crummy finish which must promote rust.....

Installed Bilstein B4 shocks and struts, front and rear, on my '14 GLK250. They replaced the OE parts that had 135K miles on them. One front shock was completely flat as in it wouldn't rebound, and the other did have some rebound but very slow and you could easily press it back down. The new Bilsteins are amazing.

I also replaced strut mounts and strut bearings with Febi-Bilstein replacements from FCP Euro, as well as swaybar endlinks (same brand). After new tires and an alignment, the 11-yr-old Benz feels like new.

Prior to the above, I had replaced both inner and outer tie rods due to clunking front end and vague steering feel on center. I confirmed the tie rods were worn by jacking up front end and being able to slightly wobble the front wheels when off the ground. Replacement parts were all Febi-Bilstein. No issues since and it's been a little over 12K miles.

I installed Mevotech TTX upper control arms (which includes a TTX upper ball joint) in the Tahoe and Suburban. Both have been good so far 6-8 months. Short duration, I know.

Also have TTX lower ball joints in both, no complaints.

Any updates?

Mevotech -- TTX is excellent upgrade over stock on trucks & offroad, Mevotech supreme is a go-to on any application

Monroe -- utter garbage struts, crap performance and they didn't last

KYB -- great performance but less lifetime than OE struts, put on a 2nd pair of them on an ex gf's subaru under 200k miles

Fox/Ford Performance -- Fox 2.0 on my truck are outstanding still at 70k miles on them, great performance but less lifetime / they recommend 50k mile rebuild interval on shocks

Mopar/Fox -- buddy of mine had Fox 2.5 Mopar shocks on his Jeep and they were shot in under 50k miles, blown seals leaking fluid, bouncing all over the place

Bilstein -- unbelievable, a buddy of mine has factory Bilsteins on his 2017 TRD Pro and they are near 200k miles and still good to go

Bilstein B4s - fantastic for daily driver in pothole country. B6s are nice but too harsh for my preferences.

Monroe OE Spectrums for the beaters - have held up really well. KYB struts on the other hand I’ve found to be too harsh even on vehicles where KYBs came from the factory.

Mevotech end links have been fine for over 50k miles. I’ve had good luck with Delphi for control arms and the one Moog I had to use. Wheel bearing assemblies from SKF have been great too.

Uro parts have been garbage every time I’ve tried them. Gambled on some $9 FCS shocks off RA and they rode rough from the get go. Failed in about 20k miles - good riddance.

2010 Silverado 1500. AC Delco Advantage Lower ball joints. Now have 40,000 miles on them and 205,000 miles on the truck. Had I known the truck would last this long I would have installed the AC Delco Gold version. All good so far.

Reporting back on the Mevotech Supreme upper control arms. 30,000 miles and still good. There is a pinhole leak in one boot. The truck is used on gravel roads occasionally.
Just an update. The Mevotech Supreme upper control arms now have 40,000 miles and are still good. The outside of one boot is a bit messy but it still holds grease.

Thankfully I haven't had to do much suspension work in awhile. Did the LCAs on my old Odyssey when the BJs got shot somewhere around year 15. They're still going (not sure where I got them, Amazon maybe?).

Basically haven't had to do anything but shocks or struts much in 15 -20 years. Unlike my old Ram which needed BJs and track bars almost like oil changes. I finally replaced the truly dumb OEM track bar design with a DT Pro Fab heim joint DOM-tube bar. It fixed the front end forever.

I'm thinking about a full Ironman Offroad setup for my GX460. I love their top line shock design. But I'm not wanting a lift, so I think I'll just embrace the hassle (and cost savings) of moving the OEM springs and buckets over to some Ironman shocks.

Mevotech TTX ball joints/tie rods on multiple friends/families vehicles without a single complaint over the years.

moog anything i stay away from after going through two sets of idler/pitman arms on my pickup in 2 years.

Kryptonite products - if they offer it, i install it on my truck. 6 years and tons of miles later on 22x14 and 35x15.50 tires at 8600lbs without an issue. truck is tight and will drive straight till the cows come home.

Bilstein 5100 shocks/struts are the ONLY thing i will install on pick ups. best shock on the market. no rebuilds required and make a truck handle like a truck. no bouncing

CQ premium/house brands i do install their parts on the fleet. i haven’t had an issue yet but they are all generic parts so who knows if im just getting lucky or they are half way decent.

The only suspension parts I've used that have failed quite early, has been a Moog sway bar link on my 2006 focus, may have been old stock, but both the rubber boots cracked in 6 months... Anything but a Ford passenger side, liquid fill engine mount seems to fail too, I tried an anchor one and it went like 30k miles....
Canadian tire low end parts seem to go quite a while, and I worst I recall, is a front control arm/ball joint on 07 Focus going 60k miles before failing again. The rest seem to have gone 80k+ miles to the end of vehicle life.

I've used KGB struts in an older ES300; made it a far better driver. The Bilsteins I put on our '01 Tundra fixed the squishy Lex-like ride.
Rebuilt the very tired suspension on our '68 BB Vette. The front springs were shorter and fatter. When my brother lowered it to the ground, it went "thunk". Perfect. That and the sticky Comp TA 255/50/16 rubber made it a much better car. Remember, the suspension was developed prior to 1963, when it was first used in the beautiful Split Window Corvette. Lasted until 1982.

Installed a pair of KYB shocks on the rear of the Veloster when the car was fairly new. Within a few months the car was bottoming out over speed humps and road dips. I took them off and replaced them with the factory SACHS shocks I fortunately kept.

I thought the KYB's would improve the handling as described on a Hyunai forum but they turned out to be total junk. I called KYB, and, because I didn't buy them from an 'authorized retailer' they would not entertain any warranty or refund. Buyer beware I guess.

Installed A Premium struts and shocks from Amazon on a 2019 Grand Caravan and were pleasantly surprised. Fit well, ride height and quality same as OE and 10k in still working well. Struts were complete assemblies. I'd do it again.

I installed Mevotech Supreme sway bar links, lower control arm, and trailing arms on a Ford C-Max 7 years ago. They are still doing fine after 80K miles.

I’ve replaced worn out OEM struts on multiple vehicles with KYB. All doing fine over various mileages though non have the mileage that their OEM counterparts had on them at the time of removal. I’m very happy with how well the KYBs ride. Significantly more supple and cushioned ride than the OEMs typically.

We install almost all moog suspension/steering parts and Monroe shocks, it all seems to be garbage. Tie rods or any booted items come back next service with the boots busted and the joints (still tight) but full of road grime. Control arm bushings and/or ball joints show play extremely quick, like within a year. Monroe shocks usually beginning to leak by the next service.

I’m sure we use bottom of the line (if there are choices in quality).

We also have found a way to source completely unbranded stuff lately, it doesn’t seem any worse than the moog and Monroe stuff we use.
