I didn't find it expensive in Canada when it wasn't on sale. I recall that Walmart up here was selling it for the longest time at the evil price of $6.66 per liter. That was cheaper than Mobil 1 at the time by about a dollar per liter. Nowadays a single liter bottle of any of the synthetics is well over $12 when not on sale.
