This is a good oil but I would be careful not to imbue it with magical powers it doesn't have. It sheared down pretty good in 3k miles on some UOAs. Here are all the GC results we have for the VW 2.0FSI Turbo (parameters truncated for size).

Hey, the first step toward becoming as rational as Mr. Spock is to see and acknowledge your own irrationality!

I don't care for some of Castrol's business practices either, but I've bought approximately a zillion quarts of green GC in past years. . .

Yeah, well that's the other thing. I can be as rational as Mr. Spock, and *still* prefer that Scotty not look at my engine oil and say, "Its Grrreen."

Rotella 5W-40 has shown some good results in Subie turbos, although it has sheared to a 30 grade in a few uoa's. I used GC in my Forester for 7.5k mile intervals and never added more than one quart. I'll probably try Amsoil DEO 5W-40 next as my consumption as increased to 2 qts. @5k miles on SSO 0W-30.

Your manual probably says the same thing most subies say; 10W-30 and 10W-40 is fine for ~0F and higher, thicker viscosites are allowed in severe conditions.

Another vote for the Rotella from me too, based soley on the good UOAs I have seen in the UOA section. I have not seen them all however. I suggest searching/scouring the UOA section for subi UOAs. There has been quite a few of them posted. Sounds like Dennis is on top of them.

Hey Dennis what about starting a UOA database for subi turbos? I can send you the vw 2.o FSI spreadsheet to use as a template and then you can just input the data. It seems like a lot of work but it isn't at all. just an idea... pm me if you want the database.
