Hello everyone, my friend just picked up an old Generac 3600XP generator with bad carburetor problems and dropped it off for me to fix and tune up. I replaced the carb with a new genuine Generac part and tuned it up and it now runs reasonably well, but it seems to have a slight surge. The surge is worse before it warms up and seems to get somewhat worse under load. But someone was clearly messing with the carb and the governor before he picked it up since it was wired and zip tied and the carb had loose bolts, so I can not assume that the governor was set up correctly when I got it. I suspect that whoever was messing with it has the governor spring and/or linkage in the wrong holes, so if any of you have a diagram or a picture of how it is supposed to be set up I would greatly appreciate if you would share it.
