The Transmission fluid is designed specifically for transmission use and only comes in SAE 90 gear weight (14.5 cSt) or 40 weight engine oil, whereas the Gear Lube is a general all purpose gear lube and comes in 80W90 and 85W140 weights.
Specs say the 80W90 fluids have the same viscosity at 100C.

Its a 1986 Jeep CJ7. I have to rebuild the transmission (T-176) and am looking for an oil for it. I saw that the Delo line uses a boron base instead of the sulfur base. But I called the local distributor and they have both for the same price but the smallest container is 5 gallon. So I figured that I would get something to use in the transmission, transfer case (D300) and axles.

I use DELO ESI in both 85w-140 and 80w-90 and both the gear oils are available in quarts. Not sure about the gear oil Great stuff!!
No reason to stay married to Delo.
Also consider a premium manual trans lube from Redline or Amsoil that meets your viscosity requirement.
Regular gear oil [differential lube] is not the best for manual transmissions.
