'79 Chevy 1-Ton Truck with 4 speed Muncie and Dana 70 rearend with 4.10 ratio. I want to change the fluid in the differential and transmission. I will be driving approx. 2000 miles per year towing a 7,000 pound trailer with this truck. I don't want to spend the money for synthetic fluids. I believe that 80W-90 is the correct weight for this application but would 85W-140 be better in the rearend for towing? Both transmission and diff appear to have small fluid leaks.
Gear oil recommendation please?

I picked up some Mystik 85W-140 for the rearend and some 80W-90 for the transmission.
thicker is better.
