I am seeking a gear lubricant (GL-4) for my NP435 manual transmission which is in my 1973 Dodge D200 pickup. It holds 4.5 quarts and I am looking for something suitable that won't break the bank.

What gets me is the ones that are "dual compatible" always say "non-synchronized manual transmissions" which to me means it isn't safe for yellow metals in synchronized transmissions which is what everyone actually has.. This led me to seek out Redline for the transmission in my Mazda. I will say that when I changed a CV axle I lost a quart of trans oil I wasn't expecting and I topped it off with Supertech Synthetic 75w-90 I had on hand expecting to do a full change later. The thing shifts the best it ever has with he 50/50 mix of supertech/redline and I've just left it alone..

Super-tech conventional 80w-90 says its GL-5 but specifically states its safe for copper/bronze.. Its all sort of confusing to me.
