GDI Engine Owners - What Oil ?

So can newer cars with stop start engine be considered hybrids and benefit from this type of oil?

Mobil 1 ESP 0w20 goes in my 2021 Honda Passport J35Y6 GDI engine and following the MM I easily get the recommended 10,000 miles out of it.

The MM has no idea what oil you are using and would just as easily go to 10,000 miles on olive oil as M1 ESP. (Assuming the engine survived, of course…)

Hate to bust your bubble but that member ain’t a teibologist. You avoided my question so worry about your own post “count”. You make hundreds of threads about almost the same thing. I cut oil filters open from many vehicles. There is NO BEST OIL period. Provide facts for your assumption please. Don’t worry about my factual posts either. No one “hates” you either. So, please act civil.

Thank You
I have been trying to get Chris to run the QS FS 10W30 back when it was likely GTL juice. Gokhan's calculation showed it
might be 2.65% VM which is about half Quaker State's 5W30 formulation. This stuff ran exceptionally well in my Ford that has D.I. and in Winter to boot. Even saw a long term average fuel milage increase. Last batch I ran didn't do as well so I moved on. Don't know if they stopped using GTL or it was just a typical base stock interchange - or the weather and my mood, lol.

Thank you for allowing me to clarify, the MM does not get down to 0% before 10,000 miles when I use this specific oil. With others it will get to 0% between 8000-9000 typically. Perhaps there's something to it? It's just speculation and it makes my brain happy 🧠😄

The MM has no clue what oil you put in. What does a UOA say?

ETA: nvm already answered by another poster

The MM is just an algorithm based on (maybe) cold starts, outside temperature, fuel consumed, average speed, etc. It doesn’t ever touch or evaluate the condition of the oil. That Mobil1 goes further in your small sample size is almost surely based purely on driving conditions.

Here's the question of the thread:

GDI engine owners : Let’s hear what your oil choice is and especially what your OCI is ? I’m particularly interested in anybody with a GDI engine who exceeds 5K miles for an OCI ?

Mobil 1 ESP 0w20
10,000 mile OCI
2021 Honda Passport J35Y6 GDI engine

I answered all the questions your honor, the defense rests.

Some believe SOPUS at one time passed on additional GTL capacity onto QS for QSUD . It could have been temporary or it could have sporadically continued - we will never know .
