Gates or Dayco idler pulley?

[SC Maintenance]

Going to replace the high idler pulley on my 400K mile Xterra. Planning on a bunch of work next time it comes home - fan bearing, this thing, ball joints, maybe tie rods if it needs.

Note this is an idler - its not the tensioner pulley. Changed that one not long ago.

Gates or Dayco come with free shipping with some other stuff I am ordering.

OEM is $75. Its a 20 minute (or less) job - so thoughts?

I like this answer. Between Gates and Dayco flip a coin, they'll both be fine most likely.

Just put a Gates idler on my Explorer. The replacement took 15 minutes. Gates has a steel pulley, OEM was plastic. Not that it really matters, the bearing is the important part. New pulley is nice and smooth.

Used both with success. I'd just get whatever brand the belt and tensioner pulley are.

I wouldn't hesitate using any of those you listed. My bet is they are probably made by the same company.
