Gasolene Octane Booster/Lubecorp

Claims:
-improves fuel economy by 25%
-raises octane levels 8-12 points
-Improves power/acceleration
-removes carbon deposites
-controls knock and ping
-reduces exhaust emmissions
-will not void warrantees or hurt cat converters

I put few treatments in son's 94 V-6 Chev and one treatment in my 05 Nissan QR25DE engine, 4 cyl. Noticable improvement on mileage/acceleration/ and engine smoothness at idle, particularly on the Chev. On a recent long trip the mileage increased from 33 mpg to about 38 mpg on the Chev., based on Canadian gallons. Cost of product is about $2.00 Can. per 50 litres or 11 Canadian (13.2 American) gallons, the 15% increase will mean one free 60 litre tank of gas per bottle over and above the investment of additive, a litre gas is about .80 here, 4.5 litres in a Can gallon or 3.6 litres American gallon.

On the Nissan, I noticed less consumption according to gas gauge on kms travelled, but I put no faith in gas gauge calculations, on next fill up with calculation based on ks travelled and litres consumed I will then know mpg as with the chev.

Quickbeam, gave it a read,I was amazed on how gas from different stations can vary in quality due to add packs, thought gas was all the same.

Briefly what I see is newer vehicles like my Nissan will adjust to octane levels and compensate as long as the octane level is within acceptable levels and no ping/knock occurs. Octane boost waste of money if sufficient levels are in gas from refinery. Older vehicles have no adjustment and octane boost may be bit of insurance policy if octane product is safe.

MMT/octane boost is solvent and harmful to cats, is allowed in Canada and now U.S. since ban lifted on it there. I am going to find out if MMT is in this product, if so, I will walk from it. The product sheet on this Octane Boost states no alcohol, oxygenates or ether.

SSDude, I agree with you, I did read this comparison page over a week ago, oversighted the octane in Super Gas Plus, guess I locked focus on "Octane Boost Product". The lubricy, de icing, cleaning, stabilizer etc along with octane boost definately a far better product in SuperGasPlus. Glad I didn't buy a case of the Octane Booster, will go to the SGP product if clear of solvents/MMT etc. Thanks SSDude and what is your take on these lubecorp products?
