Gas drops $0.30/gallon today

Since folks seem to freak out when it goes up quickly, local stations are dropping from $3.689/gallon to 3.389/gallon on the IL side of the STL metro. I saw prices in MO of $3.199/gallon on gas buddy.

Where are the folks who normally whine about prices not coming down. That's a pretty big jump, an almost 10% drop.

Nothing is coming down around here. I'm in the suburbs and I drove around during lunch... prices are still the same: about $3.90-3.95/gallon.

They should go down even more. The wholesale futures price has dropped from about $3.15 to $2.70 in the past week. Oil today is trading under $80. Have not been out today but Reg UNleaded was still $3.47 yesterday at 5PM. Hope those prices come here soon.

I went yesterday to Garo's Gas in Altadena and it was $3.62 per gallon. I was told that at the ARCO at Las Tunas and Baldwin in Arcadia it is $3.59.

Oil futures are down so it might lower the gasoline price a little more.

Chicago's gas has been $4.19ish for the last few weeks. Sucks.

With gas prices falling.....I would suggest not filling up...but get enough for 2 or 3 days....to take advantage of the lower prices ahead.

We reached 4.09/gallon last week, yesterday I payed 3.89 and today it's down to 3.59 all over. Just about [censored] bricks in excitement!

Seems like the only thing that really affects gas prices is when people cut back on their driving...

That's how often I fill up, every 2-4 days.

No major drop like that here yet, still $3.60-3.65 a gal. Crude below $80 a barrel, over a $15 a barrel drop in 5 days.

Also heard today gas demand down from last year. Prices sure don't seem to dropping as quickly as they rose is recent weeks, with less of a climb in crude prices over that time.

Gas stations do that so they don't go broke. Basically, they tend to raise their price quickly, and then drop slowly.

Just commenting that the drop here is not what the OP is reporting. And, a $15 a barrel drop in crude sure seems to warrant a bigger drop then seen here, imo. But, it is what it is.

So far it's only dropped a few cents in my area.
Since the last time I got gas, RBOB Gasoline has dropped 40 cents. Hoping to see the pump prices reflect closer to that soon, but knowing this area it'll be a while longer.

I've mentioned this before, but compared to the past few years the refineries are charging a lot more too (about 50 cents per gallon more).

No drop here. Still $3.89/gallon locally as of noon today. The price can vary from town to town. I got gas at $3.83 on Monday since that's the cheapest gas in the areas I frequent.

The reason why nobody is jumping for joy is because it's still priced way higher than it should be, especially up here in Canada! The most common price in the Toronto area right now is $1.23 per liter, which works out to $4.65 per gallon! But with the price of oil at it's current level, our price should be closer to $1 per liter, or $3.78 per gallon. I highly doubt we'll ever see below $1 a liter in Toronto ever again!

It really wasn't that long ago (within the last 4-5 years) that it was around 60 cents per liter too! That's definitely a pipe dream now.

Drove through the Lehigh Valley on Rte. 222. Saw a Sheetz and Hess station (across from one another of course) at $3.37. Down the road about 10 miles at Redner's, it was $3.35. the Exxon station across from the Redner's was at $3.45. Guess which one had more cars.....
