I filled up today at Mobil for $2.77/gal which I think is not bad. It still costed about $41 for a fill up so not so good.

I went into the nearby supermarket and came out literally about 10 mins later and the same station was now $2.85/gal. Talk about good timing. Well I guess I saved about $1. But I remember a few days ago it was about $3.19/gal so that would've been over $5 more for the same fill up. Uh oh just remembered that little savings officially makes me a speculator

That always happens to me except they adjust the price in their favor when I have to fill up. If you want a good price on fuel buy when I don't. lol.

Yeah lol usually they catch me filling up during a price hike. I kept notice of gas price signs and just got lucky this time.

What I've been doing lately is top up when I'm around a 1/2 tank and I notice the price has been dropping. I may not get it on the price bottoming out and I might not need more than 5 gals but at least they won't catch me paying 40-50 cents more a gal for a whole tankful. Besides it's better to keep your tank fuller msot of the time.

Well one thing is I'm probably getting about the lowest price in town. There is a Mobil, Shell and a Sunoco all next to each other on a busy road that compete on price near me. I feel lucky to have a Mobil and Shell at good prices nearby. And like I said it was 3.19 not to long ago and it has went up to 2.85 and probably rising. I caught it probably at its lowest. As far as I know Ohio stays around the national average sometimes a little higher or lower but close.

Don't you have to get full service in NJ? I wonder if that always adds to the price of gas there.

but my car takes 91 and that about 1.25/liter. or about 5.00/gallon.

Here's a question I've always had. Does Canada not use imperial gallons which are about 3/4 of a liter more than a US gallon? So wouldn't this make Canadian fuel prices "seem" higher than they are?

If fuel is $1.09/liter in Ont. right now, couldn't we all say that gas which is $3/gal here is actually $0.79/liter and therefore not all that much cheaper?

Or do they use US gallons for fuel?

My point was that gas here has dropped in price the last couple days to $4.19/gallon.
It's been several years since i've seen $0.79/liter.

Canada uses the SI measurement system. The conversions made for the price comparisons have all been liters to U.S. gallons.
