I'm looking to replace my garage door opener but I'd like to find one that has a "pet" setting. My current opener has this setting on the opener that will vent the door about 8-10 inches, which is perfect for my German Shepherd to see who's walking up to our house and get a little fresh air.

I'm looking at the Chamberlain openers, but I'm wondering if they and/or other manufacturers have this type of setting on their remotes?

Do most new openers have this type of setting?

Thank you,
Ed

Why not just try the same manufacturer? OR rebuild the existing one. It's not hard...motor, plastic gears, controller. I have 20 year old Sears one I have done twice.

The manufacturer is out of business and new parts are no longer available.

Ok so which components are bad? Most of those are built with off the shelf parts.

+1

I have a "BlueMax" that is a builder marketed Genie that works great and it is over 20 yrs old as well. Required a capacitor replacement that was a breeze.. otherwise it is a well built, simple, quiet shaft drive model that is tough as h.e.l.l. !
