The oil itself maybe, the additives if they are like 5w30 have been so so in the used oil analysis on multiple applications, it seemns to be beat down by 8,000 miles on non turbo engines.

Still acknowledging that the composition of the two oils and how they are made are not similar, and their price sure isn't.

There are some 0W20 brands that are hard to find at local stores, Maxlife has 0W20 and nowhere to find and never saw G-Oil 0w20 on the shelf anywhere.

If walmart rocked that 0w-20 for 26.00 with 26.00 coupon 4 times a year like the black bottle that would erode the fiscal cliff.

Has caterham seen this yet. From what I infer from his posts a high vi is the holy grail when it comes to engine oils,and with a vi of 220 there is only 1 oil that I'm aware of that beats it at 221(iirc). The tgmo stuff isn't it.
I'd give er a shot in my hemi if I could find it anywhere.

not to thread jack, but anyone know why the variation in pour point for the 5w30??

For that kind of money, you may as well use Eneos Sustina 0W-20, or you could make it even easier on your wallet by using either Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy or TGMO.
Sustina and TGMO are also in the same high VI ballpark as this G-Oil.
Now, I'd surely try the G-Oil were it available with a decent rebate.
OTOH, someone here is going to try it and the used oil analysis results should be interesting, as will the VOA.

That was the old formula, not the new one. Please don't spread false information.

There is a $10 rebate on a case of 6 on the website. I have emailed them inquiring about the validity of the rebate on product purchased from Amazon. Will post the reply on here if its favourable. Sustina is over $10/qt in my area, so this will definitely be cheaper if the rebate applies.

With the MIR, the G-Oil would be more reasonable.
Sustina is pretty expensive, but is a known good oil, while we have yet to see any used oil analysis of G-Oil 0w-20.
Still, someone has to be the first to try it.

The Sustina 0W-20 has a 229 VI, and the Mazda branded, Indiana Idemitsu made GF-5 SN with moly is a 221 VI.

Is this G-Oil new, or is it just NOT on ANY Sino Mart shelves anywhere, but available online, or at smaller retailers??
