My mother drives a 09 Fusion SAP with the 3.0 V6 and AW 6 speed transmission. It has a lot of highway miles on the car and that is why it has almost 100,000 miles already. It has really been a good car too.

She gets the oil changed at her friends shop about every 5000 miles and I assume they use some bulk oil but I am not really sure. It is due for another oil change and the oil still looks very clean.

This is what I have done so far
Drain and refill transmission - Ford AW spec trans fluid
Drain and refill coolant - Zerex G-05

This is what I will be doing very soon
Oil change - Motorcraft 5W20 Pure one filter
Air filter change - Purolator
Brake inspection - original pads!!
Tires are still like new

Anything else I should look at?

Hard to believe that her original tires are still like new with 100,000 miles on them. You might want to consider changing the spark plugs at 100,000 miles.

wow lot of miles driven in 3 years , at least compared to what I put on my stuff. my 02 Trailblazer is still under 90,000 lol !

Second set of tires, original brakes. I looked online at Advance Auto Parts and they do not list a fuel filter for the Fusion. It seems that a lot of the newer cars do not have a in line fuel filter.

Spark plugs for sure.

I'd do at least one more drain and fill of the transmission fluid. You get about half the fluid in a drain and fill, so doing two you get about 75% new fluid.

Spark plugs.

Tires if needed (sounds like they aren't - hard to believe they are good with 100k miles on them).

PCV valve.

Mass airflow sensor cleaning.

One of those 3 step fuel system cleaning systems (throttle body cleaning, intake cleaning, and the one you dump in the gas tank).

Air filter.

Power steering fluid change.

Brake fluid bleed when it needs brakes.

New tires, new front pads and rotors, new spark plugs (NGK G-power or Iridiums), run a can or two of seafoam or techron through the tank, and check the condition of the serpentine belt.

I drive an 08 Milan 3.0 and found the fuel filter is part of the pump. I used NGK Iridium IX and have been pleased. Even if the plugs are good, it's a good maintenance item to do at 100000, as they can become stuck in the head if left too long. I recommend flushing the ATF a few more times..that transmission is great but seems hard on fluid. Only 3-4qts come out with the plug removed, so it takes several times for a good flush. Also, use 1 bottle of Lubegard Red as the OEM fluid isn't very good quality. It sounds like you are doing a great service! Maybe a wheel alignment too?

The OEM Goodyear Eagle RSA lasted a long time, I was rather surprised myself and now she has some Michelin tire on the car.
I just checked the brakes and did a tire rotation and the original pads are still good! I would say a little more then a 1/3 of the material is still there. Also I have a bottle of Techron to put in the gas tank.

To add to the list
Changed oil and filter
Changed air filter
rotated tires
Sprayed MAF cleaner on the MAF sensor
brakes still good
Techron in gas tank
Bought new spark plugs
Drain and refill trans X2
Drain and refill coolant X2
No fuel filter
No PCV valve
No cabin filter

Here is a pic I took with my Iphone today. Very clean

I think your on the right track with what you've done/plan to do.

The only thing I would do differently is use Mobil 1 or PP or even Quaker State Ultimate Durability and extend my OCI out to 8 or 10K.

5K OCI's at the rate your mom is driving means oil changes very often. Tig1 has a Fusion and has no problems with extended OCIs with full syn.

By the way....very nice car.

Here is a pic of the Focus, but my 4cyl Fusion looks the same with 10K OCIs. Also I change transmission ATF every 40K and turkey baster the PS pump and master cyl every oil change.

You definitely have a PCV valve if it's the 6 cylinder, and now is the time to replace it as it's behind the IM (which has to come off to do the plugs). Things I'd change:

-PCV valve*
-rear PCV hose (it gets really hot back there and the hose gets pretty soft over time
-intake manifold gaskets. You can reuse them but mine were actually pretty distorted.

I'd also pull the throttle body and thoroughly clean it (makes it easier to pull the IM anyway), so I'd also get a TB gasket.

*one note, there are 2 versions of this, heated and unheated. You'll want to see if there's an electrical connector going to yours before you order it.

Looks like you got a pretty good maintenance list there. Are you changing the plugs yourself? If so, the rear ones are under the upper intake manifold and it needs to be moved to access them. I'd be interested in your comments on how it goes for you as I may be tackling this job sometime in the near future.

Also, I've read you want to replace the manifold gaskets at this time.

PCV must be a dealer only item because I cannot find it aftermarket. I was afraid that the intake would have to come off to do the rear three plugs, is it a pain to pull the intake?

I was price checking intake gasket on Advance site and it is cheap so I will just buy a gasket set. Also I noticed that the Motorcraft Original Equipment Platinum Iridium Spark Plug were listed as a exact OE replacement plug and was only about $3 vs the $7 Autolite plugs from Autozone. I might just take the Autolite plugs back and go with the cheaper OE Motorcraft plugs.

like 8 bolts and an EGR tube. There is a great write up on fordfusionclub.com go look and see!
