V Vikas Thread starter Joined Jul 22, 2005 Messages 11,980 Location NorthEast Jan 28, 2012 #21 It turns out it was indeed a mechanical problem. The top portion of the rotor had rubbed on the stator. Once I took it off, I could feel the play im the bearing. You can see the damage to the stator core.
