Here are some pics of a Full Oil filter I decided to sacrifice for the sake of knowing what I am throwing on my wifes car.

This is the AC Delco PF47 equivalent for such things as the 3100/3400 V6 engines.

Overall I was relatively impressed. It was a tough can to open, had not a bit of rust or dust visible inside (did have what appeared to be a coating of rust preventative), and while the media was not always spaced equally, there appears to be enough of it there. I counted 69 pleats and the media fills the can pretty well. Overall I would say its as good at a STP or AC Delco, but without the ECore that so many dislike. Much better than a Fram Orange Can that costs more. I paid 3 bucks for the filter and might order some more.

Actually she wouldn't care. I came home yesterday and she was cleaning her Walther and AR-15 on that same table.

I married a tom boy. :)

Nice!

Looking at the pics, looks good, IMO. Can't see in pics, does it have a dome end bypass or does this app not have one?

Thanks for sacrificing one for pics.

You had better hope she won't care.

Because I don't have an autozone within 50 miles, Wal Mart is mostly Fram in my town, and I only bought a couple of these along with my 1/2 Bosch filters to get the requited cart amount to get free shipping.

As for the wife, she seriously wont care. Its a spare table in a spare room and if you lift the cloth, its already beat to heck. Now when it warms up and I refinish it, then she might care, but my desk in my work room has bad lighting for the pics.

No bypass on this application.

After seeing personally what a Fram filter did to a Kawasaki bike and a 440 Hi Perf MOPAR, I dont trust anything until I know what it is built like. If I would have cut it open and seen Framesque construction, the filter would go in the can instead on on any engine in this family. Now the upper end Frams are ok, dont get me wrong, but Im not paying that much for a filter that is on par with a 4 buck Purolator Classic.

My friend in high school I ran around with had a low mileage KZ750 and did an oil change with Rotella and since O Reillys was out of filters for his bike, he went to Advance and bought a Fram. Well in less than a week of casual riding it blew up. The bearings showed evidence of oil starvation. He had it rebuilt, put a wix in, and never had an issue since. And no it was not the oil pump as the bike had less than 6k on it, and he reused it on the new engine and it has gone another 10k.

that did not put me against Fram until last summer when I was with my friend at his dad's shop and we saw a Fram nearly blow up a stout 440 MOPAR engine in a Plymouth. The guy had put it on, filled up with Royal Purple Oil, and drove it less than a mile to the shop to shoot the breeze. When he went to get back in it, he started it up, and it had REALLY LOW pressure. He shut it off, and we switched it out for a Wix from the O Reilly down the street, and what do you know, it had 40psi just like it did before the Fram.

I just wont trust them on my car. Im sure its rare, but the two issues I saw was enough to turn me off from the standard Orange Can or any of their Moto filters. In a pinch I would use the better Frams if I could not get anything else.
