Fuel injector cleaner on rubber hoses

Is it safe to use Lucas Fuel injector cleaner as a lubricant to slip rubber fuel hoses back on? I'm replacing a fuel filter and looking at it sitting here is pretty viscous stuff. They claim there are no harmful solvents or alcohol in it. Just a "powerful" blend of oils. Although applying it directly is obviously four more concentrated than if it was coming up from the tank mixed.

Assuming that like the other Lucas "miracle" products that this is just heavy group I bright stock with red dye I'd assume it wouldn't damage anything other than your wallet.

Just use WD40, it works great and does no harm.

What about using the same grease as used for lubing the Slide Pins on brake calipers.

Diaelectric Grease would be best.

You don't want to use brake caliper (silicone or especially not with metal/ceramic/etc in it) nor silicone dielectric grease. Since silicone grease won't dissolve in gas, it could (partially) clog your filter or injectors.

Couple drops of motor oil.

I notice Walmart has a SuperTech version of the Lucas injector cleaner - right next to it on the shelf

they both look just like 30W non-detergent oil

I used to work at a facility where the automaker tested fuel injector cleaners and I asked them about it. They said they test it to make sure it doesn't harm the components. I believe they were talking about dealer-supplied cleaners.

This^^....WD40 is a terrible penetrating oil, But works great for fitting rubber hoses that you don't want to blow-off when pressurized!
