front crankshaft seal blows out instantly after valve cover gasket replace

Does the VVT solenoid have a gasket?

Is it possible that the gasket failed and the solenoid is OK?
Looks like it has an o-ring. Worth trying perhaps, if its not hard to get to. But if its difficult to access, i would replace with an entire oem solenoid.

You can service just the O-Ring on the VVTi solenoid
Part # G1917-32010, about $3
After what my high milage 2AZ Scion put me through, I'd just change the PCV valve and it's hose now
If the valve itself is leaking, consider a WVE/NTK part
Could be an OEM rebox 🤔

final update. i changed the whole vvti solenoid assmbly. the entire unit was completly shot. in fact it came out in peices vs one peice. no more leak and car has more pep. dont think the valve was even working anymore. i mean it was extremly worn out. i guess at 220k it was due. i bought OEM. not a job you want to do over again. you are working blind and by feel only and do NOT drop the hold down bolt. i used the paper in socket trick . job done!
