wife's 2004 Poyota (Pontiac Vibe & Toyota Matrix) had a vibration/shimmy and grinding sensation from front brakes. Replaced rotors but reused the pads (Raybestos Advanced Technology)because the pads were almost new and of very even thickness. The vibration/shimmy problem was solved but the grinding noise or sensation still occurs once per 50 stops or so. Feels like it's from the left front. Looked it over several times and everything looks great. Can't see what the cause of the grinding feel and noise is. Brakes stop very well with no pulling or shimmy. Pads were bedded in correctly,caliper pins cleaned,lubed and torqued to spec, hubs was cleaned of rust prior to installing rotors. New fluid, too. I have another set of pads from Advanced I can installl but don't want to throw parts at it. Any ideas?
