From Amsoil MTG to Redline MT-90

I will be switching from Amsoil MTG to Redline MT-90 very shortly. It seems in the warmer weather a little grinding is coming back to my Corolla 5spd.

My question is this.

I bought only 2qts of MT-90 and it may fall just a hair short by like 100ml of a fill.

Would you:
A) Top it off with Amsoil MTG

B) Top it off with an opened bottle of MT-90 from 2yrs ago.

C) Top it off with a non sythetic 75W-90 gear oil.

I don't get the little grinding part. What year is the car? MTG is a 75W-90 with a vis of 13.8@100°C.

MT-90 is ?

Are you sure clutch is fully engaging?

I sure hope my clutch is working right. This grinding is a light feeling in the stick while going into 2nd or 3rd. Redline all but cured my SpecV 6 spd. I'm going to try Redline, since it's a POE based oil ans is a tad thicker.

What's your input on the top up?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the gears are actually "grinding" once the transmission has warmed-up, wouldn't it indicate that the lubricant is too thin, and not providing enough protection? Perhaps the Amsoil MTG "sheared?"

Probably topping off with 2 year MT-90 will be fine as long as the bottle was closed.

Speculating if the fluid sheared or not, will only be proved with a used oil analysis. Some transmissions do like oil a tad thicker.

Yup bottle was tightly closed. The oil just looks a little dark from memory of it fresh. I'll compare it when I get the new a stuff

I'm guessing that since the transmission can also take a GL-5, that this one likley prefers a bit thicker? Otherwise I'll be going with something thicker.
