Friday the 13th Trivia

The main thing I'm worried about is a car collision. I'm extra paranoid on Friday the 13th. Not for my sake, but for the sake of the car.

I would rather not drive on Friday the 13th if I don't have to.

In France, La Francaise des Jeux (FDJ United, the operator of the national lottery games) single-handedly changed the superstition starting in the 90s.

They declared it "Good luck day", ran special lotteries (bigger wins and whatnot) on Friday 13, and absolutely drowned the media landscape with ads (their ads were very good, btw, usually very creative and funny). Lottery ticket sales are orders of magnitude higher on Friday 13th. Needless to say - on Friday 13th the chances of getting a (small sum) winning scratchie are also orders of magnitude higher.

Not sure if it's still ongoing (probably is), but by the early 2000s everybody who actually pays attention to Friday 13th considered it a good luck day there.

Triskaidecaphobiacs make this claim ipse dixit as we now know up to three times per year. Its genesis is from a final supper when thirteen deciples were deceitful. (skirting a religious topic)

The Friday the 13th movie was filmed at Camp NO-BE-BO-SCO in New Jersey. When my son was a Boy Scout we camped and hiked there as a troop. We have the pictures of all the scouts with the lake, cabins etc. It was a pretty cool fun trip.

Today is Friday the 13th , a day considered in western superstition to be unlucky. It can happen once per year or up to three times per year. This year it will happen three times, Feb, March and November. To have a Friday the 13th, the first day of the month needs to be on a Sunday. Good luck!
My clock says Saturday the 14th so I must have missed it.
