Fram XG7317 and Fram FPS7317

The Fram FPS "Fram Pro Synthetic" parts are the non-retail equivalent of the Fram XG's. Functionally, they're identical to the Fram Ultra, except they lack Fram's ugly black grip feature.
The Fram FP "Fram Pro" parts are the non-retail equivalent of the PH Extra Guard parts AKA "OCOD".
They're not intended to be sold to consumers, but can be found on Ebay, Carid.com, Amazon, and elsewhere.
There are also FPP "Fram Pro Plus" which are the non-retail equivalent of the Fram Toughguard, but they're much less common from gray market resellers than the FPS's and FP's.

You do not need to use full synthetic oil for a full synthetic oil filter and vise versa.

thanks "volk06" but I researched oil filters and this one had high marks, and I was also advised to use a better filter anyway, and I choose to use full synthetic oil with a full synthetic filter. My wife and I have 3 Hondas, a Pilot, a Ridgeline, and a CRV. My mother in law has an Accord, and my daughter has a Civic. I do all the maintenance on these vehicles. My wife and I only put approx. 3000 miles a year on our vehicles. so I change the oil by once a year instead of mileage so the added cost being $10 or so more for me doing a full synthetic change is well worth it to me....

I think you can extend your oil change interval to 6,000 miles (2 years).
You won't be hurting a thing.
Oil filters do NOT care "how long" they are on a car, really.
You can run that filter 4 years (12,000 miles) - no harm & no foul.
My wife and I only put approx. 3000 miles a year on our vehicles. so I change the oil by once a year instead of mileage so the added cost being $10 or so more for me doing a full synthetic change is well worth it to me....

thanks "Linctex", the only problem is that I don't have a garage, and I am right on the 100% saltwater backbay....and if the filters are not made of Stainless Steel... a year on the vehicle is about enough with the corrosion rate around here....
+1 for the FPS line. Some are available on eBay in cartons of six filters for about $6 per filter including shipping. I'm running a FPS7317 for two oil change intervals in my Ridgeline and M35.

The filter only holds about 5-6 ounces of oil, so no worries with that. Oil Change 101: it's never advisable to remove and reinstall the same oil filter.
thanks "NormanBuntz", but I have been changing my own oil since I was 17 years old, and I am still changing my own oil, and my relatives oil, at 60 years old... and I never changed oil and reused an oil filter either by leaving it on with dirty oil in it, or by taking it off and dumping the dirty oil out, and putting the same filter back on again.
As I said before in this thread, I only do my oil changes once a year now that I am retired and do not put more than 3000 miles a year on our vehicles, so a $6.00 filter is not worth reusing to me, but like I said, we do not put a lot of miles on a year, and we are in a very corrosive environment here.
The oil is the life blood of our engines....and a full synthetic oil change with the full synthetic filter cost me about $35 to $40 a year to do on each vehicle, so to me it is well worth the cost to use a quality oil & filter once a year...

My Generac 16kw has become a rusted mess, but never my oil filters. And since the FPS and Ultra filters are designed for extended use, I use each one for two 4,500 to 5,000 mile oil changes.
