I just changed the oil on my JD 950 tractor. It has a 3 cylinder Yanmar diesel engine. Fram filter is new, Amsoil went through 12 months and 110 hours. This change I went with Pennzoil Long Life and a Wix filter.

Good work. I wonder how many filters Fram sells to people just wanting to cut them open and see what a piece of crap they are. I couldn't quite read the number on the Fram. The can looks about the same size as a PH 3950, but that element is much bigger, almost filling the can, unlike the PH 3950. I notice the element fills the can of both, but the Amsoil can is much bigger. A case of bigger is better.

The Fram is a PH3593A, and the Amsoil is an SDF36. Bought the Fram for a couple of bucks at Tractor Supply. Local auto parts store dinged me $8.36 for the Wix.
