Any visible particles captured by the media?
This morning, I retrieved the filter from the dumpster and closely re-examined what was captured between the vanes by physically stretching the vane ends until they detached from the black plastic ends. From the four to five different locations, there was no observable metal, foreign or soot-like debris at the bottom of the vanes' V shaped notch. Even handling the filter, there was a general overall lack of oily grittiness and the filter could have gone to the 15k mi interval. This is a Toyota Venza V6 3.5L 2GR-FE with 90845 mi. The oil UOA was sent out and the results will be posted towards the end of the week.
I have to seriously re-think the 10k filter interval and commit to do a spring 2020 Blackstone Particle Count/UOA at 15k mi with scheduled 5k PUP and/or Zeppo drain and fills. I still remain hesitant for some reason.
Is there any 15k Particle Count results posted?
