Fram Ultra Problems?

it is hit and miss. I wouldn’t buy an ultra regardless, the new media is terrible. someone just posted a torn one yesterday.
Oh great, I have a bunch of fram utras one sitting on my car now all bought in 23-24

I think he’s referring to mine. It was bought in 2024 for the FL500s Motorcraft application. Off the 3.5 v6 in our Edge.
I have a ford flex 3.5 so probably same filter

IDK but I haven't had any of the issues reported here. I just cut open two 7317 (7500/8k run Pennz Ultra Euro 5-30 in a 19 Outback 2.5) and a 9688 17 Outback 3.6 7500k run Mobil 5-30 with 192k on the engine). Maybe it's specific to certain filters? I have noticed a few pleats not in perfect alignment but not what I'd call wavy and no tears. It does make me believe if I ran these filters to the 20k mark things may be vastly different.

I have 2 Ultras (7317) left that I bought a while back, but I think I'm going to go OEM Honda after they are gone.
Leaking leaf springs continue to be a problem. Several with torn media have also been posted. It’s on the naughty list.
I got rid of my FL500s' after seeing the problems with them. Replaced them with Ultras and now this. What filter should I run to cross with the FL500s in my eco? Obscure filters available at O-reilly's or othe USA auto parts places aren't available to me in Canada.
Per @Patman he can get Carquest Premium filters in Canada at the brick and mortar store. You have any Carquest stores close by? I'm dropping Motorcraft FL500S and going Carquest Premium 84502 on my Coyote.

It looks like he’s in Alberta and unfortunately they don’t have Carquest out there. It’s only on the Eastern side of Canada
From what I am told the Microguard Select from O'Reilly is supposed to be made by Premium Guard which is the flavor of the month lately. I bought one to run on my 2019 F-150. Got it with a $10 off $10 or more purchase email from my Rewards account. They are $9.99 at my store. I think that is the same manufacturer that makes the CarQuest.
