Fram Ultra / Endurance Users - Move On to What ?

Depends on the definition of "serious". Regardless, it's a problem due to bad manufacturing QA.

We were using OG Ultras and changed to M1 and then to Endurance. I am done switching since the alternatives aren't any better and the OEM for our cars (Subaru) is the same price and has an inferior media.

There’s a c&p of an Ultra with ripples. The OP and many others pointed out visual particles on the clean side of the filter around the gaps. Not something we normally see on even low efficiency filters.

Some people claim that the leak doesn’t matter because it gets cleaned up on the next pass. The visual particles on the clean side of the filter are debunking this theory.
I remember something, but what is it. The particles were fine until they went through the gaps and became sticky?

Do we know if the Fram Titanium oil filters have any leakage issues (similar to the Ultra or Endurance ?)

My guess is the particles took the path of least resistance bypassing the media through the gaps. Honestly not sure why the particles collected there, but it showed the leak path.

@Zee09 found this beauty. Built in 2024 at the Ruffles chip factory.

I'm just learning about this Fram Ultra issue. Good timing because I was just about to buy a few for oil changes for 2016 Nissan Rogue. I put a Synthetic Endurance on there in November last year. When did this issue develop? I was going to switch to the Ultra just to save a few bucks since I don't do long OCIs.

What would you guys recommend for this car? Mix of highway and short tripping. Doing 6 month oil changes. Should I just drive over to the dealer and buy OEM?
