Why would it bother anyone? It's the same thing as the media is made out of. If it's good enough to filter its good enough to use at the ends.

Wix's marketing was great with the "metal is better" fallacy.

Time to get the FRAM Kool-aid out and pass it around again.

Quarterly sales must be a little low.

Those FRAM OCOD's and Toughguards will still never win any beauty contests.

They remain the Shemp Howard of oil filters.

Why by either get a Wix and never look back.. Wix makes good filters from their cheapest to their most expensive they all have good build quality. If you own a hyundai or kia their filters have great build quality.

What's the difference in price ? Two dollars maybe ?

Most of BITOG's Fram Ultra users seem to run them to about 66% of their potential if that. They buy an extended drain filter, but consider anything less than 10k to be extended..

Heck, they could just about post them in the for sale thread. "Gently used Fram XGxxxx ... $2."

It bothers a lot of people except for fram fanboys.

Doesn't bother me at all, nor does if make me a fanboy. I am an equal opportunity filter user. Whatever filter happens to be in my hand during the oil change is what's going on.
